Farm Hemp in America

Hemp does not pose a threat to the American public, but you would never know it by the way our government opposes it. Now, we are not talking marijuana, we are talking about it's cousin the Hemp plant. The only people that fear Hemp are the oil companies, timber farming, construction materials, paper manufacturers, steel companies, and a large number of chemical corporations. Various big businesses, with plenty of dollars and influence, have suppressed the truth from the people. Hemp grows in most climates, is very adaptable, and is a very prolific crop.

If Hemp was utilized for its vast array of commercial products, it would change, or eliminate, many of these industries! Entrepreneurs have not been educated on the product potential of Hemp. The super rich have conspired to spread misinformation about an extremely versatile plant that, if used properly, would ruin their companies. In the 30s, one of the biggest industries against the Hemp plant, was the paper industry, led by some of the largest newspaper magnates of the day. These rich, influential captains of industry did not want anything that would compete with their holdings of timber forests, sawmills and paper plants.

Secret meetings were held between our government and these industrial giants. Hemp was declared dangerous, as it was a threat to their industrial holdings. They did not want to lose their influence and power, so hemp had to go. Our elected officials bowed down to the money and influence of these corporate giants and created a set of laws which deceptively labeled Hemp as a dangerous plant. This attitude continues to this day.

In the 1980s, America waged a multi-billion dollar war on drugs. We were fighting farmers in other countries, trying to eliminate their cash crops, without replacing them with anything of value. If we would have spent those billions of wasted dollars on creating an industry around Hemp, our war on drugs would be a non-issue, as these farmers would have an alternate cash crop fueling American industry. The list of products that can be made out of hemp is lengthy; clothing, food, fuel, paper, building materials, essential oils, and the list goes on.

Hemp has a higher quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where trees take a lifetime.

Hemp plastics are biodegradable! Over time, they break down naturally and do not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics do not break down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast array of hemp plastics will not ruin the rivers as petrochemical companies have done. Hemp products are safe and natural.

A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. They are also very high in essential amino acids, Omega 3 and 6. They also contain essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol.

And, this is just the tip of the Hemp iceberg. Hemp is one of nature's miracle plants.

Join the effort to Farm Hemp so we can transform America into a land that cares about our citizenry, and the environment in which we live!
